Description
Tungsten Rods:
Tungsten are crucial components in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding and certain plasma welding processes. They play a fundamental role in creating and maintaining the Electric Arc necessary for welding.
Tungsten electrodes are made primarily of tungsten, a metal known for its high melting point and excellent electrical conductivity. Tungsten electrodes used in welding are typically composed of a tungsten alloy and other metals.
Each packet contains 10 rods
M.O.Q :1
A ten (10) pack of premium 1.5% lanthanated tungsten rods for TIG welding
Electrode Size: 1.2mm . 2.3mm , 2.4mm , 3.2mm x 175mm
The most common diameters range from 1.0mm to 4.8mm.
while lengths typically vary from 150mm to 175mm (6″ to 7″)
Different Types Of Tungsten Electrodes :
- Pure Tungsten (Green): These electrodes are made from pure tungsten and are primarily used for AC (alternating current) welding of aluminum and magnesium alloys.
- Thoriated Tungsten (Red): Thorium is added to tungsten to improve arc starting and stability. Thoriated tungsten electrodes are commonly used for DC (direct current) welding of steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium.
- Ceriated Tungsten (Grey): Cerium is added to tungsten to enhance arc stability and reduce the risk of tungsten contamination.
Ceriated tungsten rods are suitable for both AC and DC welding of various metals. - Lanthanated Tungsten (Gold): Lanthanum is added to tungsten to improve arc starting and longevity. Lanthanated tungsten electrodes are versatile and can be used for both AC and DC welding across a range of materials.
- Zirconiated Tungsten (White): Zirconium is added to tungsten to increase electrode life and maintain a balled end when welding with AC. Zirconiated tungsten Electode are commonly used for AC welding of aluminum and magnesium alloys.
